14-Year Old Robbed During Drug Transaction
20 year old Robert Courts, 20, Parsippany and a 17 year old male juvenile also from Parsippany were charged with Robbery and Conspiracy to Commit Robbery on February 19, after a 14 year old male juvenile reported that he was tackled while walking home from the Parsippany Cinema 12 and robbed of his wallet containing $30 and a school identification card as well as a set of keys and a cell phone. Courts reportedly held the juvenile down and stated, “Don’t move, I have a knife.” Detective Edward Conklin responded to the scene and located a bag of marijuana on the ground where the juvenile victim reported to have been assaulted. After interviewing the victim and locating the suspects, Det. Conklin and Det. Sgt. Richard Nicoletti determined that the suspects made arrangements to meet the 14 year old at that location and purchase marijuana from him but instead conspired to rob him of the marijuana and the money. Robert Courts was transported to the Morris County Jail in default of $25,000 bail (no 10% option) set by Judge Silver. The 17 year old male was placed at the Morris County Juvenile Detention Center. A 3rd suspect, also a 17 year old male from Parsippany was later identified, charged with Robbery and Conspiracy to Commit Robbery by Parsippany Hills High School Resource Officer Det. Joseph Selitto and transported to the Morris County Juvenile Detention Center. The 14 year old juvenile victim faces charges of Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substances and Intent to Distribute CDS for the original intended transaction.  

Parsippany Police Charge Two PHHS Students With Stealing Beer And Lottery Tickets
 Two juvenile males, age 16 and age 17, were taken into custody for theft of a six-pack of Budweiser beer and $50 in scratch off lottery tickets. A 53 year old man who resides in Boonton purchased the items at approximately 10:55 p.m. from Greenhill Liquors, 168 Parsippany Road. He reported that he placed the bag containing his purchases on the ground while attempting to unlock his car door. Unable to get the door open due to an iced lock, the two juveniles who are students at Parsippany Hills High School approached and asked if he needed help. He left them at the car with the unattended bag and went inside the store to get de-icer, and when he returned the juveniles and bag were gone. Officer George Tsimpedes located the two juveniles sitting on a park bench near Lake Shore Drive and transported them back to the Greenhill Shopping Center where they were positively identified by the victim. They were transported to headquarters and later released to the custody of parents. The pair face a charge of theft of moveable property.

DWI Arrest
After receiving a report on Tuesday, February 16 of a motorist driving erratic on New Road toward Route 46, Officer Ronald Carrozzino located the described green Volvo and observed it leave the roadway and travel onto a grass median on Route 46. A motor vehicle stop was conducted and driver Cinderella I. Eboh, 45 Parsippany, was subsequently arrested for DWI. At headquarters
Ms. Eboh became combative and belligerent and she was transported to an area hospital by the Parsippany Ambulance for her safety and to obtain blood samples. She was issued summonses for Driving While Intoxicated and Reckless Driving.

Promoting Prostitution
Nikki L. Russell, 43, Hamburg was arrested on Wednesday, February 17 for Promoting Prostitution after offering an undercover Parsippany Police Officer sexual acts in exchange for a monetary rate of $450.00 per hour. Police conducted an investigation spanning approximately two weeks after receiving several anonymous tips that Russell, who advertises under the name “Gia Pilazzo” was working out of the Sierra Suites Hotel located, 299 Smith Road. According to hotel records, Russell occupied a room at Sierra Suites for 60 out of the last 90 days. She was taken into custody, charged with Promoting Prostitution and released on her own recognizance pending a court date.

Park Road Home Burglarized
A Park Road single family home was reported to have been burglarized on Friday, February 12 between 12:00 Noon and 10:15 p.m. with entry made forcibly via a rear door. All the home’s bedrooms were ransacked and $30,000 in cash along with gold jewelry valued at approximately $2500 and two laptop computers was reported stolen from the home. Warrant Arrest After Running Red Light
While on patrol on North Beverwyck Road, on Tuesday, February 23, Officer Michael Sprung observed a 2003 Nissan fail to stop at a red light at Vail Road. A motor vehicle stop was conducted and it was discovered that the operator/owner had a suspended driver’s license as well as an active warrant in the amount of $2500 issued by Hanover. Carol A. Kolb, age 54 of Lake Hiawatha, was arrested on the warrant and turned over to the custody of Hanover Police Dept. Kolb was issued summonses for driving While Suspended and Failure to Observe a Traffic Signal.

Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia
Officer Michael Sprung responded to a Rutgers Lane apartment on report of a disturbance on Monday, February 22. During the investigation apartment resident Brian Laberth, 49, was arrested when a glass vial containing a small amount of white powder suspected to be cocaine was observed on the floor of the apartment along with a small handheld mirror, syringe caps, razor blades and other items of drug paraphernalia in the apartment. Laberth was transported to headquarters and charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and a Local Ordinance for Disorderly Persons. He was released on his own recognizance pending court.

Theft by UPS Employee
Eric A. Rose, 18, East Orange was arrested and charged on February 18, with Theft of Moveable Property. Officer Jason Ferreira responded to United Parcel Service, 799 Jefferson Road on the report the Rose, an employee, was in the security office after being observed trying to leave the warehouse with four Apple IPod Touch phones and an Apple Ipod Shuffle concealed on his body by being taped to his leg. He was discovered when he set off the metal detector. Rose was taken into custody, processed and released on his own recognizance pending a court date. The total value of the items was $2130.00.

Arrest For Theft By Deception
Vinod Wadhwa, 63, East Hanover was arrested Friday, February 19  and charged with Theft by Deception and Writing a Bad Check in connection with defrauding a Parsippany resident out of more than $100,000.00 over a period of two years. Mr. Wadhwa of Brevard Financial Ltd. of East Hanover had propositioned the victim with a “business opportunity”. Mr. Wadhwa was to provide the victim $1,000,000.00 in return for a $100,000.00 initial investment needed to release a court judgement against the “People Democratic Party of Nigeria” in the amount of $50,000,000.00. $2,500,000.00 of which was to be awarded to Brevard Financial Ltd. The victim contacted police after $145,000.00 had already been invested over the two year period. Mr. Wadhwa was arrested after an ivestigation into the incident by Officer Ross Cooper and Det. Joseph Puso of this agency. He was processed at Parsippany Police Headquarters before being released on $25,000.00 bail. The scam in question is commonly referred to as either a “Nigerian Scam” or a “419 Scam”.
