PACC Launches "Spotlight on Parsippany" Radio Talk Show

The Parsippany Area Chamber of Commerce launched its first radio talk show, Spotlight on Parsippany, on January 31, alongside the Spotlight on Parsippany newsletter. Both streamed and available for download online, the radio program aims to connect the local community, businesses, government, and the Parsippany Area Chamber of Commerce together.

The radio show discusses the various events that the Chamber offers, such as its networking events and educational business training workshops. At the same time, the program features businesses and government in the Parsippany Area, conducting interviews to highlight the company and broaden their market while allowing government dignitaries to reach out to the community.

As part of the Chamber’s 2010 Community & Economic Development initiative, the radio show will foster a positive business and residential climate throughout the thirteen zip codes serviced by the Chamber. Produced and housed by the Parsippany Area Chamber of Commerce, the program is created almost entirely by the student volunteer group, the Chamber Connection. As an initiative of the PACC’s Employment Outreach Program, the radio show will not only promote community strength, but also train and educate the future workforce.

The radio show offers opportunities for its students to acquire valuable real-life experiences and develop their skills in management, leadership, and cooperation. Through the Employment Outreach Program, students gain insight on the workings of a real radio show and the challenges that accompany it. Every week, students are responsible for outlining the contents, sound editing, and inviting guest speakers. The radio show provides students with the opportunity to think on think on their feet and take initiative. The radio show can be streamed by clicking here.
