Parsippany-Troy Hills Library Children Winter Programs

The Parsippany Library has announced its winter programming for the Main Library and its branches.  Registration is required for the following programs except the Saturdays are Special Storytime and Valentine Workshop.  Please contact the Children’s Department for registration at (973) 887-5150 ext. 233.

Main Library

• Saturdays Are Special Storytimes – Preschoolers and their Parents.  Stories, songs, and a craft which are designed to increase preschoolers’ vocabulary and reading readiness.  This program is sponsored by Target.  Third Saturday of each month, January 16, February 20 from 10:00 a.m.to 10:45 a.m.
• After School Booksters – Grades K-1.  Find out about some of the latest and greatest new books.  Read aloud short paragraphs from a selected book.  Have first dibs on checking out one of our new books!  First Thursday of each month, January 7, February 4 from 4:00 p.m.to 4:45 p.m.
• Young Readers Book Club – Grades 2-3.  Read a different chapter book each month.  An activity or craft follows this discussion.  Third Thursday of each month, January 21, February 18 from 7:00 p.m.to 7:45 p.m.
• Mystery Sleuths – Grades 4-5.  Select one of our many mysteries to read.  Share and discuss the mystery at the next meeting.  A crime spreadsheet will be provided for you to take notes to report back to the group.  Second Thursday of each month, February 11 from 4:30 p.m.to 5:00 p.m.
• Fantasy Book Club – Grades 4-7.  A new book discussion club.  The first book is Warriors: Into the Wild by Erin Hunter.  Mondays:  January 11 and February 8 from 5:00 p.m.to 5:45 p.m.
• Science in the Library, Presented by GlaxoSmithKline – Grades 3-6.  Discover a different scientific concept each month.  Third Thursday of each month, January 21 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:15 p.m.
• Valentine Workshop – All Ages, under 7 with an adult.  Make a Valentine for someone you love.  Make another for a nursing home resident.  Saturday, February 6 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Mount Tabor

• Come make a Valentine to give to someone special!  All Ages are welcomed.  Cards will be donated to people within Parsippany Heal Care Facilities.  Tuesday, February 9 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m.
• Monday Drop-In Winter Crafts.  Drop in any of these dates to make a craft!  All ages are welcomed!  January 18 and March 15 from 4:45 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
• Teen Chocolate Fondue Night!  Ages 13-18.  Monday, February 8 from 7:15 p.m.  Space is limited and registration is required.  Please call the Mount Tabor Branch at (973) 627-9508

Lake Hiawatha

• Crochet Club.  For ages 10 to adult.  Tuesdays January 26 through March 2 at 3:30 p.m.  Registration Required, please contact the Lake Hiawatha Branch at 973-335-0952
• Drop-In Craft.  For all ages.  Second Thursday of each month:  January 14, February 11, March 11, April 8, May 13, June 10 between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m.  No registration required.
• Green Craft.  For all ages.  Third Thursday of each month:  January 21, February 18, March 18, April 15, May 20, June 17 between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m.  No registration required.
