Get $1,000 for Jewish Overnight Camp
Families can receive a $1,000 through the Campership Incentive Program for each child attending Jewish overnight camp for the first time this summer. Families are encouraged to apply as soon as possible, as availability is limited. Visit www.onehappycamper.org to learn more and to apply.
At Jewish summer camp, children have a blast in the great outdoors, participating in sports, arts, outdoor adventure and dozens of fun activities. More importantly, campers develop self-confidence and make lifelong friends within a thriving Jewish environment. “Camp registration for summer 2010 is already in full swing, so this is the time to solidify plans,” says Tracy Levine of The Partnership for Jewish Learning and Life, the UJC MetroWest agency that administers the incentive grant program. “If you are thinking sleepaway camp, this is an added reason to think Jewish camp. We are proud to help make this life-changing experience more accessible to more children.”
The Campership Incentive Program is an outreach program meant to attract first-time campers ages 7-17 who are not receiving intensive daily exposure to Judaism. The incentive grants, co-funded by the Foundation for Jewish Camp and local donors, are non needs-based. They are available for over 50 residential camps offering a wide array of Jewish programming, ranging from JCC camps to camps connected with denominational movements or other Jewish organizations.
Visit www.onehappycamper.org for eligibility information and to apply for an incentive grant. For free guidance on Jewish camp options or additional questions, please contact Tracy Levine at (973) 929-2970 or tlevine@thepartnershipnj.org.
